We need a comfortable spot where we can meet as a class to learn, as well as when we engage in one of our favorite activities...reading! We are in need of a nice, big carpet for everyone to fit at our meeting spot. Right now, the students are sitting on the cold, hard floor at the front of the room. On the floor, we meet to have our morning meetings, whole group instruction, and read alouds. We sit together so we can discuss as a whole group or with our “peanut butter & jelly” partners. This discussion time is so important as this often is where discoveries and learning authentically happen. A big carpet will greatly improve our meeting times and help bring togetherness to the group as well as comfort! We also need a smaller rug for our reading corner. We have a perfect window spot where we can relax and look at beautiful green landscape while falling into a good book, however, students are once again sitting on the cold, hard floor. A rug that brings nature inside will invite students into our reading corner and continue to help them build a lifelong love for reading!
