My classroom encompasses a diverse population of 21st century learners. Nestled in a rural suburban setting outside of Pittsburgh, PA, Elizabeth-Forward School District strives to provide our students with the ability to become submerged in technology. Striving for innovation is the mindset in a school with over 45% economically disadvantaged students who have the opportunity to learn to code, and program robotics at each grade level K-5. In my classroom, I truly believe that technology is the future to combat unemployment by imploring children to learn how to program and code. Teaching these complex tasks at the elementary level is hard but very rewarding. By learning about coding, children are engaged and want to stay in school. Once a coal town, the surrounding Pittsburgh area now looks to technology as the future. My students want to be 21st century learners. I appreciate all of your help fulfilling that wish!
