My name is Kerry Boles, and I am entering my 13th year in the classroom. Currently, I am teaching 2nd grade and I absolutely love it. I cannot imagine having any other job. Watching students grow and develop not only academically, but as individuals is such a neat thing to be a part of. I feel that it is important to embrace the whole child, and not forget that they are young and impressionable. There are many things that we, as adults, can do or say that can negatively effect their self esteem. I have always loved teaching literacy, but as I venture further into the upper grades, I am trying to expand my teaching of STEM. In order to do this, I need some exciting hands on activities that will challenge and engage my students. Most of my projects will reflect this!
