My students (and those students in our whole school) come from very diverse backgrounds. I have many ESL students in my class who struggle with the phonetics of the English language. I would love to be able to have manipulatives they can physically grasp to help them learn the letter/sound correlation. I also have students who come from various economic backgrounds. My students do not all have access to materials and opportunities for learning in their homes. I hope, through the donation of these materials, to bring the level of confidence in learning up for those students who lack materials, guidance and opportunities in their home lives. My goal is to have an "even playing field" for all of my students, at least while they are with me during the day and in our classroom.
