Our high school has roughly 1800 students, which leads to classroom sizes of 30 students or more. Since large class sizes are typically frowned upon because of the minimal amount of time spent learning about each student. However, our school focuses more on making professional relationships between students and faculty than general instruction. I have learned that there is a large socioeconomic gap between my students and this causes many students to have friction between one another. I tend to define each student by their interests and how I can adapt my lessons to their interests rather than leading judgment based on socioeconomic status of each student. My students are learners that link knowledge to sports, cartoons, movies and constantly making connections between words and visuals. Crafts and demonstrations are a huge a part of my classes as they keep the students constantly interested in the materials and allow the students to learn each scientific concepts in multiple ways.
