There are no calculators in my classroom, which makes it tough for my students to compete with students at other school. The calculators are essential tools my students need to improve their knowledge of technology and prepare them for state testing. It makes me frustrated when I have to spend the limited time fixing the few outmoded calculators instead of preparing for lessons to help my students succeed. These are necessary tools my students need to use in my classroom. These calculators will help improve my students' mathematical capabilities and skills. They will not only improve their use of technology but allow them to focus on learning as opposed to "is this calculator going to work today". With testing becoming timed, it will help my students become more competitive with other students. This will change my students' ability to learn the material instead of worrying about if something will work or not work.
