My students are 3-5 years old and all have an Autism eligibility. They have limited, if any, functional speech and require a lot of direction and guidance. Almost all of them have goals to increase independence and make appropriate choices. They learn best through visual and tactile learning environments. Many of my students perform at average or even above average levels when it comes to academic subjects. However, their behavior deficits impact their social skills and communication efforts. When I prepare one lesson, I modify it at least 3 different ways to make it accessible to every single student. They may learn differently from other kids their age, but that doesn't make them any less of a group. Your donations will help me to purchase materials that cater specifically to young children on the Autism spectrum and hopefully provide them with the support they need to succeed in the rest of their academic careers.
