Dixon Middle School is a low wealth school in North Carolina. We are in a brand new building by the sea. The community is diverse. We serve military families to small town fishermen families. The library is in great need of technology. As librarian, with donations I could prepare these children to be global citizens and expose them to cultures different from ours. I plan to provide the students opportunities to engage in project based and STEM activities in the library. I am working closely with the PE, Music, Art, STEM, and Academically Gifted teacher to create stations in the library to inspire students to imagine, create, research, and inquire. The donation will help fund materials for these centers that will allow students to use 21st century skills. The donation will also supply the much needed technology to help students research, present, and connect with students around the globe.
