My students are 6th graders. They are eager to learn and explore new concepts. The students are a mixture of gifted, on-level and low-level students from various ethnic groups. Technology fuels their learning and creativity! Academics are the primary emphasis at the school. The school is diversely mixed and the core of the curriculum focuses on math, science, social studies and language arts with the goal of academic excellence and personal character development. Connections classes such as art, music, drama, physical education, etc. enhance the instruction. The school has some technology but it does not adequately support the number of students in the classroom. Teachers are able to sign up for laptop carts and computer labs, but they are in heavy use and limited supply. There are no cameras available for check out and printers are limited and only print in black ink. Having access to more technology in the classroom will definitely be a thrill for the students!
