I am a preschool teacher in a rural, high-poverty school in beautiful Sumter County. Preschoolers learn through play and engaging all of their senses. Our playground is lacking in materials to help these four year olds build experiences while playing outdoors. We need benches and tables for children to sit and read books, talk with friends, draw pictures, and cultivate social-emotional stages. We need an area where they can paint and display their creations. They need an area to plant seeds and tend to growing plants. If I am able to fund this project, it would help me to facilitate positive and creative outlets for my children to learn about their environment and how to care for it, how to express themselves in both a cooperative and respectful manner, elevating self-esteem and empathy for others. Please help them reach their potential.
