I have twenty four fifth grade students in a high poverty school. All of our students receive free breakfast and lunch. We also have a transience rate that is over fifty percent- meaning over half of our students either leave or enter our school within a year. My students often come from single parent homes, live with grandparents, have a parent who is incarcerated, or live in foster care. Unfortunately most don't have any access to Legos or other building materials in their own homes.
