My district is an incredibly diverse and supportive environment to work in. As the 9-12 Theatre Director, I have had the unique opportunity that my administration trusts and values my department to embark on challenging endeavors that are focused on student growth. However, our school is highly overcrowded, and we are one of the lowest funded districts in Colorado making the accessibility to grow programs extremely difficult due to limited resources. In my day, I see about two hundred different students in my classroom, all of them needing to be supported and encouraged. I strive to make individual connections with each of my students so they know that they matter.
