The mission of teaching and learning in my classroom is to keep students engaged in the learning process through critical thinking about their learning. I aim to grow students from learning about science to actually doing science and teaching others about the concepts that are important in my science classes. The introduction of science experiments, engaging experiences, and technology will help me set the tone for students to have them immersed in science activities everyday. Providing my students with awesome science experiences will hook students that will return to school each and everyday eager to learn and performing at optimal levels. Working in an impoverished neighborhood school, my students come to school with a unique set of needs just to make sure they are prepared to learn. As their teacher, I want to be able to provide them equitable access to education without compromising their self-esteem.
