I have been a school teacher for 15 years. the last eight years I have been a teacher for children at a Psychiatric Hospital. I am now back in a public school setting. I thought state run facilities were tight on money to purchase materials until I came here! I had to leave most of my teaching materials that I had received behind. I walked into a totally empty classroom. It was like starting over after 15 years of teaching. The budget is the worse I have ever seen. I have already spent hundreds of dollars out of my own pocket. It has been worth every cent to see the look on my students' faces. I teach third, fourth, and fifth grade students. My students have a special way of learning. They are all very unique. They are active and enthusiastic learners. They need extra special help in order to meet their full potential. It is my job to do everything in my power to produce avid young learners.
