My third grade classroom is filled with 29 diverse students. A third of my students are English Language Learners. 90% of the school population lives under the poverty line. 100% of our students receive free and reduced lunch and/or reduced price textbooks. Our students face many obstacles and difficult situations at such a young age. As teachers, we have the power to help students to love learning and to receive a quality education in order to better their way of life.
