I am requesting new furniture for my classroom that provides students with the option of choosing the right tools to help them learn. In this case, it is where they sit throughout the day. Studies show when students have a choice in their learning their engagement increases. By allowing students to choose not only where they sit but also the type of seating will help them take control of their learning and teach them how to make smart choices independently. The materials I have chosen will be accessible to all learners every day. The floor seats and short round table will encourage students to collaborate on group projects or during partner work. Students who would prefer to work on the floor will enjoy using the lap desks and the balance balls can be moved to any location to help maintain students' focus. Students will be able to use these items all day every day.
