The students at East Elementary School are quite diverse. Many are children of military members from Mountain Home Air Force Base who have come to Mountain Home from all over the world. They experience the challenges of parents' long deployments and/or moving every few years. East Elementary is a Title 1 school with approximately 63% of the students qualifying for free/reduced lunch. Purchasing supplies for the classroom is always a challenge. Despite the constant monetary shortfalls, the staff, parents, and community are resourceful and generous.
