My 1st graders are just beginning to learn how to read. I want them to feel successful so that they will continue to read. My students need books and materials that will help them learn how to decode sounds and make meaning from the books they read. The resources I am requesting will make reading enjoyable and accessible for all of my readers, especially my emergent and struggling readers. These books will be used in the classroom and they will be sent home to help parents read with their children at home. My hope is that my students will feel successful and will continue to want to learn to read!
