The forty intellectually gifted fourth graders of my Title 1, 4th and 5th grade elementary school (650 in student body) attend my classroom one full day each week from 8:00-2:00. All of them have IQ scores higher than 120, and many of them struggle with conditions such as ADD, ADHD, Asperges, and Dyslexia. They are very energetic learners who need stimulation through creative center based learning. Their lessons require movement, hands-on engagement, and peer discussion. Using their interest inventories, I develop 9 week unit studies that allows them to read, research, and complete projects focused around interest and goals written by the student body.
