Due to the fact that my school has almost no budget, the students have not been afforded the supplies and books that they deserve and need in order to be the best learners that they can. Our school does not have much technology and there are few books available for the students. I have built a decent classroom library and my kids really enjoy books. My students are wonderfully energetic, curious, and awesome kids who come from high poverty homes. We are a Title 1 school where 100% of our students receive free lunch. My students are eager learners and I have built a strong classroom community even without having any books or supplies! My students have been deeply engaged in Reader's and Writer's workshops this year in my classroom.
