These objects will allow my students to get the sensory input that they need to focus on their education. These materials will also allow them to reach their academic goals in a fun and hands on way! This time to get extra sensory input will help my students SOAR to new heights. My students will be able to go to the comfy seat and be SQUEEZED and comforted. This allows them to relax and focus on the instruction, instead of seeking sensory input. These sensory items will allow my students to learn numbers, colors, letters, and how to self-regulate in a fun and engaging way! They will be excited to use these items and not even realize they are learning during the process. If they need a moment, they can simply walk back to the sensory area and pick up a ball and bring it with them to their seat and/or table. This allows them to wind down after an anxious moment and get right back into the swing of things! The goal for these items is to teach my students how to self-regulate their sensory needs. They will be allowed to walk themselves to the sensory area and calm themselves down. This teaches them to recognize when they need a break and when they are ready to get back to work!
