Ghost and Patina (the first two books) in the Track Series will help my students see themselves as they read. These stories are so much like their own. I am sure that they will "fall in love" with the works of Jason Reynolds He is ONE of the best authors for 21st Century readers and writers. Additionally, we will make "sketchnotes" before, during, and after reading these books so that students can write and draw keeping their CREATIVITY alive for their learning. the sketchbooks will provide a collective place to record their thoughts and ideas as well as provide opportunities for students to increase their vocabulary.
