My colleague and I work with a group of highly motivated but high-needs New York public high school students. Our upper house courses are mixed grades (11th and 12th graders) and this gives our students the opportunity to work with differently skilled students of various backgrounds and experiences. It also enables them to learn from each other and fosters a tremendous sense of community.
