My classroom is home to a wonderful group of young journalists just outside of Tampa, FL. We have a diverse group of students from 9th-12th grade, and our mission is to create a school newspaper that offers coverage of all students at our school, is highly engaging and interesting to our readers, and follows all journalistic standards that professionals do. The students I work with have a strong desire to grow in their chosen field and be the absolute best they can be, but are, unfortunately, restricted by some of the current technology in our class. While my students have the necessary resources to do some of the basics of any journalism program, I would love to see their passion put to better use by gaining more reliable and up-to-date computers and camera equipment.
