My students are AMAZING! They come from many different backgrounds, types of families, socioeconomic statuses, etc. They have BIG personalities and even BIGGER hearts. They see the best in others and themselves. They learn from me; but more importantly, I learn from them. Over 70% of our school is given a free or reduced-price lunch. As a building we face various challenges, just as any other elementary school; however, I wouldn't want to work anywhere else. When walking into any given classroom, one would not only witness effective instruction, but also a heart and love for each child as an individual. Our school works together for every student to succeed whether we have them in class or see them in the hall. At our building the entire staff shows every child the love and encouragement that they need to succeed and learn as an individual.
