I have been given the opportunity to loop with my students for a third year. We will continue to learn in the same classroom for a third year in a row. Having flexible seating options in the classroom would give them the ownership they SO need/want in their lives as well as give them the chance to wiggle and "flex" throughout the day. We always hear that it is good to give your students choices. Why then do we very rarely give our students choices in where and how they sit in class each day? Not only have my students started to be more attentive in their learning after being given the choices (in the few options they have at the minute) but they also have a larger sense of empowerment throughout the day.
