Your donation will help to purchase books for 6th grade females who are transitioning to middle school who may not have a positive self-concept and need academic and social support. The targeted sixth-grade female will have an opportunity to read this book but also help develop a positive self-concept. As a librarian, I especially want to reach out to incoming sixth graders to help promote the love of reading and provident culturally relevant books that students will be able to make connections. Donating to help fund this book selection for my female students will open academic and personal growth they may not think possible.
