I love my job and I love my kids. Everyday is different and holds its own set of difficulties, but each day I learn something new or am inspired by my kids. Each summer, I look at the new groups that will be entering through my classroom door and wonder how to help them, reach them, and show them how special and amazing they are. This summer is no different- that's when I had this shocking revelation. (Please note the sarcasm......) Kids love to move. They squirm, they dance, they dramatically tell the most amazing stories.... So how do I use that movement to help them reach their personal best and beyond? How do I use that extra movement for good? After doing hours of research, I discovered the power of stability balls in the classroom. Students who need movement during lessons or long "think/write sessions" would get that opportunity, but not in a distracting way. My vision for this year, and hopefully years to come, is to create a classroom of self-motivated successful students in motion. Thank you so much to those who have helped me make this dream a reality!! Now will you help me?
