My students live in rural New Hampshire. We have solid athletic programs, excellent academic programs, and a supportive community. What our district does not have is any extra money. We have stretched and worked, and been creative in order to develop a program of STEM (Science Technology Engineering and Math) based learning in the technology education space for our middle school, but what we haven't been able to do is come up with the funds to purchase equipment for exploration and invention. During study halls I have student coming into my room looking for extra technological projects to work on, I would love to help them. I would love to allow them to let their creativity soar while developing an interest in science, engineering, and technology, but all of my high tech equipment is in use for my regular classes.
