Our school is an alternative school for kids ages 16 - 21. A majority of my students have not been successful in a typical school setting. Most of my students feel as if school is irrelevant to them, and that getting their degree does not matter. But for most of them, this is their last chance for making a better life for themselves. At the beginning of the year, success is simply getting them to come to class. However, as the year progresses, we strive to challenge them, to teach them to have confidence in themselves and their abilities. We show them practical applications of their lessons and how these tools can help them in the real world.

About my class
