Hi there! I'm a public high school teacher in North Texas, working on my 2nd year of teaching. A lot of effort is put into supporting students from the bottom up - and needs to be! - but a lot less is aimed at high achieving students in low-performing schools. My goal as an AP teacher is to get high-level students to be pushed above and beyond the expectations of public high school students, and a lot of it involves working at collegiate-level rigor and expectations. This includes independent work and necessary materials (such as study guides, books, binders, and experimental materials).
