Our students are currently maintaining and learning to grow their own food through science on a farm. Our 1/6 acre farm does not yield enough food to supply healthy fruits and vegetables to our school community that resides in an urban food desert. We are looking to expand our farm through a greenhouse and hydroponics for a year-round growing expansion. Using a pond with fish to fertilize the plants, we are going to teach students the science of sustainable farming. In conjunction with rainwater barrels, we are going to teach the students how to cultivate a balanced sustainable ecosystem in which to grow a farm. Help us help our community and create a learning environment.
