I have third grade students who come to school each day to put their best effort forward. They like to laugh, use strategies on all their work, sing learning chants that I create for them and support each other when they achieve in the classroom. I teach at a low income school where students have a lot of life issues that affect their ability to learn in the school environment. We have students that have the capability to achieve in school, even at high levels, but don't know how. Because of this, some students behave in a poor way. In my classroom I set a positive, safe and learning atmosphere so that students can not only feel success, but be pushed to come out successful, despite what behavior and actions they see around them.

About my class
