These first year students are entering school with excitement and anticipation. As I am preparing myself for this new challenge, I also am recognizing that the classroom environment is the children's second teacher.I am working hard to create an environment for my students that will engage and challenge them to learn everyday. Art nurtures inventiveness in students and engages them in developing creativity, problem solving skills, and communication. I want my 5 year olds to LOVE coming to school as much as I do.One of the ways to ensure this is by creating a safe engaging place for them to learn and express themselves. The addition of an art easel to aid in art education helps students to understand other subjects such as math, science, language arts, and geography more easily.
