I have 17 first graders who are learning all about the importance of being a good reader. My school is Title 1 with about half of my class coming from homes where English is a second language. Many of my students do not have books available to them at home which makes it hard for them to grow their passion for reading. Therefore being able to pick out their own book from the library is very exciting.
