Hello! I am a speech-language pathologist working in a low income elementary school. My speech-language pathology assistant and I work with approximately 60 students, from grades K-5, who demonstrate speech and/or language disorders (e.g. inability to produce certain speech sounds correctly, difficulty speaking fluently, below average understanding of vocabulary and basic concepts, incorrect use of various grammatical forms, etc.). Our students come from general education classrooms as well as a structured learning center which provides more intensive instruction for those students who need it. All of our students face some kind of challenge in their ability to communicate effectively with others, and our mission is to enable every one of our students to be the best communicator s/he can be!
