Our school is a small Pre-K-6, rural, high poverty school that has received numerous awards. We have earned the Federal Blue Ribbon, the Blue Ribbon Lighthouse, and the National Title I Distinguished Schools awards. Our students overcome many challenges and strive to be successful citizens. They have organized service projects giving back to our community. We have accomplished musicians, artists, athletes, and even BBQ cook-off champions. My students learn best when they are able to discuss and work collaboratively with each other. When my students leave my class, I want them to be confident readers and leaders.
