These books will help us complement the cultural variety our classroom library is missing. Our classroom library needs a more balanced representation of the different cultures represented in our classroom. Students enjoy seeing themselves in texts and most importantly, they love to share new things with their peers about their families, customs, and beliefs. Every student book should have the opportunity to see themselves in a book! All of these books have been chosen with my students in mind. I have researched some of the most recommended titles and plan to complete units that my students and those in my grade level can benefit from. Students will be able to choose books, complete digital projects (using the TPT gift card), and continue to enjoy independent reading time at a personal level.
