Our students are first generation college students who have sacrificed being in a traditional high school with extracurricular activities such as sports and band in order to get a head start on their college degree. The students here take college courses simultaneously with their high school courses. To help our students succeed on their high school classes and college courses, we provide them with a variety of support (tutorials, note-taking, time management, organization, etc) and materials (binders, pencils, printers, etc) that most of them do not have access to. In addition to academics, we are teaching these students habits that will help them be successful in their college studies. Habits like organization, time management, persistence and grit. We teach these habits by creating a community atmosphere in our school. Some students are in charge of recycling. Some help with tutoring. Others help with keeping our school supplies/materials organized so future students can use them.
