My students are struggling readers. Many are capable but have learned bad habits in reading and/or a dislike. My school is amazing. The fact that I get to teach the struggling readers with a special curriculum is a blessing. I teach a smaller class than the other 4th grade teachers, only 21 students. Everyday kids receive whole group instruction, small group instruction, independent reading time, and differentiated computer software. The missing piece is practice at home.
