As a second-career teacher, I bring a lot of life experience and a ton of passion to my classroom. It is important to me that my students see the ways that our lessons apply to real-life scenarios, so I have intentionally cultivated a hands-on, student-driven, and project-based teaching style, incorporating science and engineering into my lessons. My students come to me from many different regional, global, and cultural backgrounds, but they all have one thing in common - they are excited to learn. I would describe them as thinkers and problem solvers who take great pride in owning their learning process. The students also enjoy being active in the community, and I encourage them to get involved as much as possible. One example is the active role they've taken in recycling at school. Goals for the coming year include organizing an after-school robotics program and peer tutoring.
