Walter Christopher School is a specialty school located on the southwest side in the city of Chicago. The school has 60% special education population and 40% general education population. Our special education population covers the full continuum from mild learning disabled to severe/profound. My project: I have the privilege of providing art education to the students at Christopher Elementary. I am requesting funding for adaptive art supplies for our art program to make the curriculum accessible for all student, even those with varied levels of ability. Materials would include adaptive brushes paintbrushes and grip-ease elastic straps, as well as additional assistive technology instruments.
