I teach in a first and second grade self-contained special education classroom. My students have diverse learning needs and use a specially modified curriculum to help them learn at their level. Some of my students are non-verbal and use pictures or talking devices to communicate. Some of my students need special calming techniques to make it through the day. Some of my students need frequent breaks or walks through the hallways. However, all of my students thrive on a caring, nurturing, and carefully structured classroom environment.
