Headphones are so important in my classroom because every student reads on a different reading level as well as at a different reading speed. Having headphones will allow students to listen to audio books and slow them down to their specific reading speeds. Having all of my students listen to audiobooks together in class does not help all of the students because some will stop reading due to the fact they couldn't keep up with the audiobooks. If I had a classroom set of headphones, each student could better read on their individualized reading level and speed. Students would become much better readers and they would feel more confident when reading in class.
