The more than 70% of the students in my school receive free or reduced priced lunch. My students don't really have a typical classroom in that we are using another teacher's classroom during their planning period. My students have no class resources of their own, only what is in another teacher's classroom. They are currently using my personal calculators or those borrowed from another teacher. My students are students with math disabilities and they struggle with understanding the content. Having new calculators that they could use to assist them in solving equations and identifying different qualities of equations would excite them. My students never complain about the fact that they have to share calculators, some even have stated that they are just glad to be able to use one.
