Think about when you are sitting down to read a good book, enjoy a cup of coffee, or simply working on a project. Where do you sit? Are you assigned a one size fits all seat? No! My students deserve the opportunity to have choices when completing their classwork. Flexible seating encourages collaboration, creativity, and critical thinking. There are also health benefits. Students can increase their core strength, burn calories, and develop better posture. Flexible seating increases positive behaviors, enhances students ability to focus, and engage students for longer. The wobble stools and wobble cushions will help provide opportunities for my students to get their wiggles out. They will be able to move in their seats unknowingly to their classmates. The stadium seats provide comfortable for seating on the floor, rather than working in a confined desk. Stools will be used at various tables for students who wish to spread out, and for those looking to lounge, camping chairs will be available. Students will make weekly choices of the materials to use throughout the day. The choices they make will allow them to be in charge of their learning and most importantly comfortable while learning.
