If a student receives special education services that typically means they are performing at least two grade levels below their peers. They may have a reading, writing, math or physical disability. Many of my students have some behavior issues as school can be a frustrating place for them. It can be hard to understand why something is so hard for them when they see their peers easily understanding things. However, when they do "get it" or make progress they feel a great sense of pride! The school I work for is a great mix of different socioeconomic needs as well as varying cultures.
