These items will be used to help our students regulate emotions. We have a wellness room dedicated to helping our students recognize and then deal with their feelings and emotions. Different sensory toys are used to calm and refocus thoughts and feelings. While they have a squeezy ball in their hand it is calming. They are able to share what has upset them. Different games we play with them builds a relationship with students who are then willing to share their feelings more with us. It has been a success so far this year, additional toys/tools will be very helpful throughout the rest of this school year. We have enjoyed seeing our students learn and then implement the things they are learning to do to regulate their emotions throughout the school day and then hopefully at home and in other areas of our community. We have a student body that is varied in language and the translator will help us to understand and build relationships with students. The clicker will help us to teach our slide presentations about emotional well being to our students.
