My class consists of 22 children that are 4 or 5 years of age and will begin Kindergarten in the fall. Half of my students live in homes that are below the federal poverty level and could greatly benefit from developmentally appropriate literacy centers in the classroom. Most of my students need extra help in the areas of letter recognition, letter sounds, rhyming and beginning sounds. I am hoping to add literacy rich centers to my daily routine so that my students will be able to grow in these areas while also having fun!
