STAT: Students and Teachers Accessing Tomorrow. STAT is the multi-year transformation of our schools into a complete 21st century technology learning environment to prepare globally-competitive graduates. Next year, students in grades one through three will receive a digital device for truly personalized teaching and learning. With this transformation also comes the shift inside the classroom. We are preparing this year to create a learner-centered environment. In a learner-centered environment “the instructor creates authentic experiences that motivate learners to construct their own meaning and accept responsibility for learning.” Students are provided opportunities for collaboration, choice in process and product and where the student is in charge of their own learning by working at their own pace.
